I don’t know if the owner removed the needle and with what hé measured? A needle with the dimensions: 1.8mm thickest part and 1mm. above the tip. the length of the needle is 18mm. Can it be deduced with these dimensions whether there is an 81 or 88 needle system in the machine? The furthest I get is that an 88 needle has a shank of 1.9mm.
If the machine has a 88 needle than i know the machine Will have a higher lift and a larger hook and more suitable for what i can use it…thank’s for anny sugestions! Greetings

What subclass ist you your machine? There were 201-1, 201-2 and 201-3 AFAIK

The 201-1 and 201-2 used System 81 needles an the 201-3 used system 88 needle and therefore it is the machine with the higher foot lift.
If the Class / Subclass ist no longer visible on your machine please measure the bobbin diameter and height.

BTW are you sure 18mm? Maybe mistyped?

I have no System 81 needles but the System 88 measure 48mm from top of shank to top side of the needle hole. And the system 81 needles are shorter - hope this helps
